According to friends, that bicyclist was a food delivery man. He was struck right outside of the Department of Sanitation building here. This incident happened last night at 10:30 on Avenue D, west of East 105th Street. Police say the driver of the car, 22-year-old treasurer Liggins, was speeding and failed to maintain control of the car. The car veered and struck the man on an e-bike. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Mohamed Abdullah. Police say he was ejected from the bike and suffered trauma to his head and body. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Liggins had her four-year-old daughter in the car. They were both treated and released at a local hospital. Friends of Abdullah cannot believe it. He was known as a very friendly person, always saying and doing the right things. Liggins is now facing multiple charges, including manslaughter and driving intoxicated with a child.
